This Month’s Featured Artist: IAN MARTIN

We met Ian Martin on MySpace. And boy are we glad we did. His album The Way is the best independent album we’ve heard so far in our journey to find the best independent SOULful music. It’s got a great cohesive quality where each track flows into the next. It reminds me of a Stevie Wonder album where the album almost plays as one long song. It is one of those albums that puts shivers down my spine and calls up memories of my first time, my first love, and makes me move my head and tap my feet as it hits me right in the heart.
Ian met my friend DJ Urban Unrest and myself in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, California. He was refreshing to talk to… a positive person who warms up the area around him and sets you at ease. We spoke with him at length about his religious roots, how technology impacts his work as an independent artist, and more. You can listen to the entire interview here: Ian Martin Interview

We will be posting snippets of the interview on You Tube, and will update this page to reflect that.
You can buy Ian Martin’s album The Way at CD Baby or Amazon.

Hey great podcast. Very best to you and all of your listeners!
sincerly,
Steven Hawley (Codebreaker)
Hey Edward – cheers for having me as part of the Journey Into Soul show – appreciate the support!
All the best,
Simon (Dr Rubberfunk)
Ed, “Thanks” for stopping by my site and helping me to “discover” a new blog I can tell people about and track (hmmm… can you actually claim to have been smart enough to discover something if someone tells you about first? {smile}).
Anyway, your site looks great, love the name (wish I had thought of it for myself AAMOF), and I’m checking out the podcast as I write this… and it sounds GREAT!. Sites like this are exactly the reason my site, NetInfoWeb.com, exists, to find the sites that are talking about and promoting that thing I like to call “sweet soul music” in all of its forms.
I’ll be adding JOURNEYintoSOUL to my blogroll and my SoulSites aggregator page (http://soulsites.netinfoweb.com) later today, as well as featuring the site in my next post about new places I’ve found.
Thanks for the amazing journey! I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I have.. I already love Codebreaker’s stuff, but aside from that, I haven’t heard any of the others before.. It’s been a while since I’ve been exposed to this much great new soul music! I’ll definitely be checking back often!
Thanks again!
[...] I’m sure we’ll all enjoy. For example, check out the very well done initial podcast, JOURNEY into SOUL – Show One, which features independent artist Ian Martin, and a number of other enjoyably soulful tunes by [...]
